These PDF's are strictly for personal non-commercial research and educational use only,
for the benefit of individual turtle researchers, conservationists, and students,
and especially for members of the IUCN/SSC Tortoise and Freshwater Turtle Specialist Group
This Database is divided into two Sections:
(1) All Primary Taxonomic Literature
for all modern turtles as noted in all our checklists
(Turtle Taxonomy Working Group 2007b, 2009, 2010, 2011; Rhodin et al. 2008),
including all descriptions of new species, subspecies, and genera,
replacement names (nomina nova) for all taxa and genera, and cited suprageneric names.
• PDF's available for 522 (70.6%) of 739 primary taxonomic references -- please help us complete them
(2) Additional Taxonomic Literature
cited in the introductions and annotations to all our checklists,
including taxonomic revisions and related publications that do not contain primary taxonomic citations.
• PDF's available for 186 (61.6%) of 302 additional taxonomic references -- please help us complete them
Links to downloadable PDF's of articles will be gradually included as available.
These PDF's are strictly for personal non-commercial research and educational use only,
for the benefit of individual turtle researchers, conservationists, and students,
and especially for members of the IUCN/SSC Tortoise and Freshwater Turtle Specialist Group.
For references lacking PDF's we request and gratefully accept copies for inclusion if available.
